Our cabin in Tangen is located close to Lindvallen, one of Sälen’s largest ski resorts. You can ski directly down to the connecting lift linking Lindvallen and Högfjället – and easily glide back to the cabin after a day on the slopes.
The Lindvallen ski area offers more than 40 downhill runs, cross-country ski trails, restaurants, and activities for the whole family.
The location makes it easy to combine world-class skiing in Lindvallen with the peaceful surroundings of Tangen.
🌄🛏️ Spacious Mountain Apartments with Traditional Craftsmanship
Our Tangen cabin consists of two mirror-image mountain apartments, each measuring 125 m² and accommodating up to 10 guests (8+2 beds). Built using traditional Dalarna craftsmanship, the apartments offer a warm and authentic mountain atmosphere.
Each apartment features a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer), two fully tiled bathrooms with underfloor heating, two TVs, and an EV charging point. Guests also enjoy free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a private sauna, an open fireplace (firewood included), a drying cabinet, ski storage, and a sunny southwest-facing terrace.
The layout includes bedrooms with bunk beds and double beds, a sleeping loft with a double bed and sofa bed, and a spacious living room with a dining area, TV, and fireplace.
The cabin was built using locally sourced materials and is heated with geothermal energy. All apartments are non-smoking, and Apartment B is pet-free.

The cabin is situated just below Lindvallen’s summit lodge, with beautiful views overlooking the Högfjäll Hotel.
The area is easily accessible via Scandinavian Mountains Airport, approximately 22 km away, or around a 25-minute drive. This makes our cabins convenient for visitors travelling from across Central Europe.

A wide range of activities is available throughout the year. During winter, downhill skiing and cross-country skiing are especially popular, with easy access to well-groomed slopes and ski trails.
When the snow melts, the focus shifts to hiking, with numerous trails suitable for both short walks and full-day excursions (Swedish Tourist Association). The peaceful mountain surroundings make the area perfect for nature experiences and family holidays outside the ski season as well.
The area is also popular with cyclists, thanks to events such as the Cykelvasan mountain bike race (vasaloppet.se). During winter, the world-famous Vasaloppet cross-country ski race takes place, and we offer accommodation for both participants and spectators.
For a more relaxed outdoor experience, you’ll find opportunities for fishing, canoeing, and beaver safaris (Visit Dalarna). There is also a golf course approximately 16 km away (Sälen Golf Club).
