During the winter season, visitors can fly directly to Sälen and Trysil from Stockholm, Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam and several other European cities. The airport is located approximately 20 minutes from our mountain cabins in Sälen, in Gruven and Tangen.

Scandinavian Mountains Airport (SCR) opened in 2019 and is Sweden’s newest international airport. Located between Sälen and Trysil, the airport was built to provide fast access to Scandinavia’s largest alpine ski area.
Flight Times to Sälen and Trysil
Flights to Scandinavian Mountains Airport take approximately one hour from Stockholm and around two to three hours from destinations such as Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam and Brussels.
Transportation from the Airport to the Sälen Area
Travel time from the airport to Gruven (Högfjällshotellet) is approximately 20 minutes, to Tangen about 25 minutes, and to Trysil around 40 minutes by car.

If you would like to rent a car, we recommend booking well in advance to ensure availability upon arrival.
Taxi or Bus Transfers
It is possible to pre-book transfers by taxi or bus through Sälenbuss. If you travel by transfer bus, it stops at Högfjällshotellet near our cabin in Gruven, but it does not enter the Sälfjällstangen area where our Tangen cabin is located. If someone in your group has a driver’s license, renting a car may be a more flexible option as described above.
